“Come to me and ‘rest’ in my loving presence” Matthew 11:28

The first thing the Lord said to His disciples after His resurrection from the dead was, “Peace be with you. ”  John 20:19.

On the night of the Passover before Jesus was crucified, He said unto His disciples, “I have told you these things, so that in Me you may have peace.  In this world you will have trouble. But take heart, I have overcome the world.”  John 16::33
The Lord wants us to live with a peace in our heart.  He wants us to rest in Him.  He wants us to walk in His blessings, and power, and love, and live an abundant Life.
Sadly, that is not the case for many of us.  We run into the world ahead of Him in our own strength,  we work very hard to get what we think we want doing things our way. We worry about the future, we allow the tapes of mistakes and pains from the past to play over and over in our minds; and we wind up very tired physically. We do not rest even when we sleep, and we can’t seem to ever be at peace.  That is not what Father wants for us.  He defeated sin and death to overcome the world and its power to bind, and then gave His victory to us through Christ Jesus, and the power of the Holy Spirit – so why is it that way?
Jesus said, “Come to Me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.  Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.  For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.”  Matthew 11: 28-30  When we yoke with Christ, as ‘webster’ says, we “couple, link, connect, hitch, harness, fasten” ourselves to Him, and with Him.   To yoke with Jesus is a voluntary move, and it is done daily.  When we consciously or unconsciously decide to do the day on our own without Him, we take on the world.  Jesus said when we do that, we take on trouble.
He said, “Come to Me.”, so let us make a conscious decision each day ‘to go to Him’. To rest in His loving presence. To walk beside Him, and in Him, allowing Him to be the Father, the Big Brother, the Counselor, in us that He wants to be..  The One who has overcome trouble, and is King of Kings, Lord of Lords, and who is Love.  He Is the great I AM, who has all things in His hands,  who is within us in our Being when we believe and ask Him to be.  It is absolute trust in Him that gives us peace.  It is making a conscious decision to listen to no other voice in our head but His that brings rest to our souls.
May you be blessed with perfect health, and a divine wealth of favor, wisdom, knowledge and provision, God’s Beloveds, as you Go to Him.  You are greatly loved.
