“We have come to believe and to know that You are the Holy One of God.” John 6: 69

We continue our study of the Gospel of John.  Picking up at verse 66, in Chapter 6, we read the Holy Spirit inspired words written by the Apostle John.  He says:

“From this time many of His disciples turned back and no longer followed Him.  ‘You do not want to leave too, do you?’ Jesus asked the Twelve.  Simon Peter answered Him,
‘Lord, to whom shall we go?  You have the words of eternal life.  We have come to believe and to know that You are the Holy One of God.’  Then Jesus replied, ‘Have I not chosen you, the Twelve?  Yet one of you is a devil.’  (He meant Judas, the son of Simon Iscariot, who, though one of the Twelve, was later to betray Him.)”  John 6: 66-71
Jesus had been covered up with people wanting to be near Him.   He was a ‘Rock Star’ Teacher, and Preacher.  The people loved His fresh teaching, and were fascinated by the miracles He was performing. They had heard of Him turning water into wine; they were seeing miracles of lame people being healed at His touch; and the sick recovering by His spoken Word; and of thousands being fed from five small barely loaves of bread and two small fish from His abundant supply. They had even heard of Him walking on water.  But when He told them He Himself was the Bread of Life, and that He had come down from Heaven to give life to the world, and that God Himself was His Father, and that they were to feed upon Him by eating His flesh, and drinking His blood, and that His flesh was real food, and that His blood was real drink, (John 6: 1 – 59) He was met with people who were more interested in the logical, than the supernatural miracles He had performed.
It just did not make sense as far as they were concerned.  They knew His Mom and Dad, Mary and Joseph, (John 6:42)  and some had probably seen Him grow up.  So how could He have come down from Heaven, and for sure how could God be His Father.   “Forget all of the miracles, explain that to me.”,  they murmured and grumbled.  And besides The Law says we are not to eat anything that has blood.” (Leviticus 17:10).  “I am going back to the Law.  I understand that.”
We so often have to understand everything, and see it logically before we can believe it. That is a natural reaction, and a good one for most things.  But having a relationship with Jesus is operating in the Supernatural. “The old has gone, the new is here.”  In a relationship with Jesus, we become a new Creation. (2 Corinthians 5:17)  It is opening our heart by faith and taking Him at His word and allowing His Holy Spirit to show us things in His Word that feeds our soul and spirit, and in seeing positive actions of other people that totally surprises us, and in seeing turns of events that shows us that His hand is in it, and on it.  Deciding to do that is by saying ‘yes’ to the invitation of the Holy Spirit to come to Him when it is extended to us. It is saying ‘yes’ to believing He is all that He says He is.  We shall then say as Peter did when Jesus asked His Disciples if they were still with Him, he said, “Lord to whom shall we go?  You have the words of eternal life.  We have come to believe and to know that You are the Holy One of God.”
Staying with Christ every day, and yes, sometimes through things we just do not understand in the natural, is what brings us to a level of comfort and peace and power within that nothing in the natural can give.   We come to a point where we trust Him regardless of what we see because ‘we know’ that He is the Holy One of God and that He is where true life is. He has miracles for us, and blessings for us that only staying with Him can bring.  HE IS GOD.  HE IS LOVE.  Let us trust Him through it all.
Blessings of perfect health, and the divine wealth of peace and prosperity be upon you, God’s Beloveds.  He loves you So.  Walk in His love, and be blessed in all things.?
