How great is the Love the Father has lavished on us. 1 John 3:

“How great is the love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God; and that is what we are.  The reason the world does not know us is that it did not know Him.  Dear friends, now we are children of God; and what we will be has not yet been made known.  But we know that when He appears, we shall be like Him, for we shall see Him as He is. Everyone who has this hope in Him purifies himself, just as He is pure.”

1 John 3: 1-3
The great love the Father has lavished upon us is of course Jesus Christ, who died and defeated sin and death FOR us, and The Holy Spirit who gave birth to a holy spirit WITHIN us making us a child of God.  The Holy Spirit then baptized us into the body of Christ and  the righteousness of Christ is what Father sees as He looks upon us. He sees us as a perfect child of His.
Romans 8:16 says:  “The Spirit Himself testifies with our spirit that we Are God’s children.”
Sometimes for proof of who a child is fathered by, a DNA test is performed.  When there is no doubt and it is confirmed as to who the father is, all rights and privileges belong to the child; they become coheirs with the other children.  The Holy Spirit Himself, has confirmed that we are children of God -now. We have His DNA.  We are not waiting to be, we are Now His children .  Joint heirs with Jesus whom God has appointed heir of all things. (Hebrews 1:2)  We Are Brothers and Sisters of Christ Jesus, our Lord.
The Word says of Jesus,  “After He had provided purification for sins, He sat down at the right hand of the Majesty in heaven.” (Hebrews 1:3) When we accept His Son, we are brought into the kingdom of God, as His children, and we have the privilege of sitting at the right hand of Jesus as He sits beside the Father on the throne of Grace. (Rev 3:21)
Father lavishes love upon us. He has given us the privilege to walk on this earth as His child in the purity and power of Jesus.  He tells us “no eye has seen, no ear has heard, no mind has conceived what God has prepared for those who love Him”, (1 Corinthians 2:9)
In other words, the best is yet to come, but look at who we are now – right now.
Let us receive that divine love, and walk in the victory of Christ, for we are one with Him.  He has delivered us from the weakness and sickness of the flesh.  He has restored our soul.  He has given us a spirit of perfection to live in the kingdom now.
May we never allow the evil one, the thief of all that is good, to convince us otherwise. “For God did not give us a spirit of timidity, and fear, but a spirit of power, of love and self discipline.” (2 Timothy 1:7)  He lavishes His love upon us in every breath we take. Let us show that love to the darkness in this world, and bring light into it.
Love empowers.
As Paul wrote, “May you grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.”  To Him, to the Father, and to the Holy Spirit be glory, both now and forever.   Amen.
